On Friday, 3 November 2017, Kyiv hosted the international arbitration conference Kiev Arbitration Days 2017: Think Big!
The conference took place in the Ukrainian capital for the seventh consecutive year, and – in line with the tradition – attracted the brightest international arbitration lawyers from both Western and Eastern Europe, and the United States of America. The number of registrations amounted to 160.
The conference was opened by the welcoming words of Mr Oleksiy Filatov (Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine), Ms Irina Nazarova (initiator of the conference, its Programme Coordinator and ENGARDE’s Managing Partner), and Mr Andriy Stelmashchuk (President of the Ukrainian Bar Association and Managing Partner of “Vasil Kisil & Partners”).
The participants of the conference discussed topical issues of the international arbitration: those of importance for Ukraine, as well as for the global international arbitration community. Thus, the issues of emergency arbitration, evidence production, funding, and (geo-)politics were discussed during the event.
The Organizing Committee of Kiev Arbitration Days 2017 consisted of renowned arbitration practitioners from Europe, the United States and Ukraine: Erhard Boehm, Sabine Konrad, Mariia Puchyna, Sergii Sviriba, Lisa Richman, and Mathias Wolkewitz. The input made by each member of the Organizing Committee, speakers and delegates ensured that the conference was a success.
Kiev Arbitration Days: Think Big! is traditionally supported by ENGARDE and a number of other leading Ukrainian and European law firms: Egorov Puginski Afanasiev & Partners, AEQUO, MARCHENKO DANEVYCH, Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, and CMS.
