ENGARDE’s Associate delivers a report at a training seminar in the Verhovna Rada of Ukraine

Iryna Shevchuk, ENGARDE’s Senior Associate and human rights expert of the Council of Europe, delivers a report at a training seminar held on 13 October 2016 for the staff of Ukraine’s Parliament – Verhovna Rada. The seminar is devoted to the practice of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).

In particular, Iryna will make the seminar participants acquainted with the issue of protecting the property right under Article 1 of the Protocol No.1 to the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (ECHR). Besides, the seminar participants and Ms Shevchuk will jointly analyze evaluation of grounds for intrusion into the property right while using the Ukrainian cases in the ECtHR.  At the end of the seminar the participants will imitate court proceedings under a claim in the ECtHR.

The mentioned training seminar takes place in the framework of the joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe titled “Enhancing implementation of the European human rights standards in Ukraine.”
