Overview:

Dmytro specializes in the areas of complex cross-border commercial litigation, international commercial and investment arbitration. He has been involved in high-profile matters related to corporate governance, M&A transactions, allegations of fraud and asset tracing, contractual disputes, and the validity of contractual instruments. Dmytro also represents clients in national courts.

Dmytro’s experience includes coaching student moot court teams of the Institute of International Relations at Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University as well as Kyiv International University and acting as an arbitrator at the Willem C Vis International Arbitration Moot (Vienna, Austria) and Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot (Frankfurt, Germany).

Dmytro is permanently involved in organizing Kyiv Arbitration Days Conference in Kyiv (2011-2018)

Representative experience:

  • Representing the State of Ukraine in a multi-million dispute before the ICSID
  • Acting as a Co-Arbitrator in arbitration under ICC Rules (amount in dispute approx. EUR 12 million)
  • Represented interests of a major Ukrainian industrial and financial group in the ICC arbitration dispute arising out of an M&A transaction on the acquisition of shares in a Ukrainian bank (amount in dispute approx. USD 400 million)
  • Represented a Ukrainian businessman in an arbitration dispute under the ICC Rules concerning the corporate governance of a large Ukrainian agricultural company (amount in dispute approx. USD 20 million)
  • Represented a US investor in the proceedings for enforcement of an ICC arbitral award against a Ukrainian company (USD 145 million)
  • Represented a Ukrainian businessman in the Cypriot court proceedings over metallurgical assets (amount in dispute approx. USD 2 billion)
  • Represented interests of a Swiss-based individual in the LCIA arbitration dispute on a hostile takeover of a major Ukrainian bank (amount in dispute approx. USD 400 million)
  • Represented Ukrainian agricultural group in an LCIA dispute over performance of the underlying investment agreement (amount in dispute approx. USD 40 million)
  • Represented interests of a client in settlement negotiations on enforcement of an LCIA arbitral award (amount in dispute approx. USD 20 million)
  • Represented an Italian investor in the proceedings for enforcement of an SCC arbitral award against a Ukrainian company (amount in dispute approx. USD 20 million)
  • Represented a Ukrainian oil and gas company in an SCC arbitration dispute arising out of the annexation of Crimea (amount in dispute approx. USD 8 million)
