Overview

Dmytro specialises in complex cross-border commercial litigation, international commercial arbitration, and investment arbitration. He has been involved in high-profile matters concerning corporate governance, M&A transactions, fraud allegations and asset tracing, contractual disputes, and the validity of commercial instruments. He also represents clients in national court proceedings.

Dmytro has coached student moot court teams at the Institute of International Relations of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University and at Kyiv International University, and has served as arbitrator at the Willem C. Vis International Arbitration Moot (Vienna) and the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot (Frankfurt).

He is a long-standing contributor to the organisation of the Kyiv Arbitration Days conference (2011–2018).

  • Representing a Ukrainian businessman in Cypriot court proceedings over metallurgical assets (amount in dispute approx. USD 2 billion)
  • Representing a Swiss-based individual in LCIA arbitration concerning the hostile takeover of a major Ukrainian bank (amount in dispute approx. USD 400 million)
  • Representing a Ukrainian agricultural group in LCIA arbitration over the performance of an investment agreement (amount in dispute approx. USD 40 million)
  • Representing a client in settlement negotiations on the enforcement of an LCIA arbitral award (amount in dispute approx. USD 20 million)
  • Representing an Italian investor in proceedings for the enforcement of an SCC arbitral award against a Ukrainian company (amount in dispute approx. USD 20 million)
  • Representing a Ukrainian oil and gas company in SCC arbitration arising from the annexation of Crimea (amount in dispute approx. USD 8 million)
