Iryna Shevchuk selected for the course “Protection of human rights in the armed conflict in Ukraine”

Iryna Shevchuk, attorney at ENGARDE Attorneys at Law, has been selected to take part in the training course “Protection of human rights in the armed conflict in Ukraine”.

The course, intended for judges and practising attorneys, is run by the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union in partnership with the Human Rights House in Chernihiv, with the support of the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, under the USAID Human Rights in Action Programme.

The 35 participants selected through competition will study, among other subjects, the application by national courts of international humanitarian law in cases arising from the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine and the temporary occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as the relationship between international humanitarian law and international human rights law.
