Iryna Shevchuk Holds a Course in Human Rights for the National Police

ENGARDE’s Senior Associate Iryna Shevchuk has conducted an educational course in human rights based on the practice of the European Court of Human Rights. The course was delivered to the employees of the Human Rights Support Department of the National Police of Ukraine.

Within the 28-hour-long course the attendees have acquired the knowledge in the sphere of human rights, which is necessary for the employees of the Human Rights Support Department in order to perform their professional tasks and duties aimed at safeguarding the human rights of citizens by the policemen in service. Besides, the Human Rights Support Department of the National Police has a task of controlling the respect for human rights in the police departments in charge of guarding detained or sentenced persons, as well as those who have been arrested.

Kyrylo Medvediev, ENGARDE’s associate, has taught one of the modules of the course together with Iryna Shevchuk.
