Iryna Shevchuk, a Council of Europe’s expert, certified coach of the HELP program and the Ukrainian National Bar Association, and ENGARDE’s associate participated in organization and provision of the first training for lawyers after the leading educational course of the European HELP training program in the field of human rights “Labour Rights in View of ECtHR’s Practice”. The training, which took place on March 16, 2019 in Kyiv, was organized within the framework of the project of the Council of Europe “Strengthening the Implementation of European Human Rights Standards in Ukraine”.
During the training the participants examined the gender stereotypes in the field of labour relations, listened to the presentation on protection of workers’ rights in the EU and considered the practical issues regarding the rights and guarantees in the field of labour derived from the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
After the training the interested participants were subscribed to the relevant HELP e-learning course of the Council of Europe for further studying, mastering and practical application of the operating principles of the convention standards.
The further studying in distance learning is carried out in accordance with the methodology of the Council of Europe’s HELP training program, taking into account the training experience of professional representatives of legal professions, and aims at raising the level of awareness of lawyers with the European standards and practices of the ECtHR in the field of labour law relations for their application in the daily practice of lawyers in the national courts of Ukraine.
