Iryna Shevchuk has participated in the international conference on internal displacement

Iryna Shevchuk, a Council of Europe’s expert, certified coach of the HELP program and the Ukrainian National Bar Association, and attorney at ENGARDE has participated in the international conference on improving the legal framework, litigation practice and training programs on internal displacement organized within the framework of the Council of Europe’s Project “Internal Displacement in Ukraine: Development of Long-Term Solutions”, that was held on May 21, 2019 in Kyiv.

The conference was held with the aim of developing ways to improve Ukrainian legislation, the practice of national courts and training programs on internal displacement in accordance with the Council of Europe’s standards.

During the conference the revised basic analysis of the improvement of the national legislation of Ukraine regarding the protection of the human rights of internally displaced persons and its recommendations was discussed, the publication “Internal Displacement in Ukraine: Practice of National Courts” was presented, including the results of monitoring of the national litigation practice on the protection of the IDP’s rights.

The conference was attended by representatives of government agencies, ministries, departments, local authorities and regional partners, the judiciary and other representatives of the legal community, higher educational establishments, including displaced, national non-governmental organizations, international organizations, as well as representatives and experts of the Council of Europe.
