On December 14, 2018 Iryna Shevchuk, a Council of Europe’s expert, certified coach of the HELP program and the Ukrainian National Bar Association, and attorney at Engarde organized the second full-time training of the educational course “Introduction to the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the European Court of Human Rights” of the European HELP training program for representatives of legal professions in the field of human rights in Mukachevo.
The training was attended by attorneys, paralegals and trainees who have been training online on the HELP e-platform for two months. Considerable attention was paid to practical tasks aimed to form the skills of working with landmark ECtHR decisions , correct formulation of the facts in the applications to the ECtHR, familiarization with the algorithm to prove the violation of the ECtHR when appealing to the ECtHR.
Judging by the responses provided by participants during the completion of the feedback form, most participants believe that the course is useful for their daily professional activities and that they have received new knowledge in human rights and ECtHR procedures.
At the end of the training, all attorneys received UNBA advanced certificates, and the participants who successfully completed distance learning courses received certificates from the Council of Europe.
