Iryna Shevchuk, an attorney at ENGARDE, has participated in the international conference of the HELP Programme at the Palace of Europe in Strasbourg, which took place on July 4-5, 2019.
A particular focus was given to the issue of cooperation in the field of human rights protection, the role of judges and other representatives of legal professions in the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
Also, during the conference three working group sessions were held aiming at increasing the exchange of experience between the HELP Network members from different regions where the HELP Programme is active. One of the working group sessions was dedicated to the HELP Network in Eastern Partnership countries. The participation of the EaP countries representatives is supported by the CoE/EU Programme “Partnership for Good Governance” 2019-2021 which is a common CoE and EU initiative for the EaP region with aim to promote stronger governance and to align the national legislation and practice with the European standards.
